Siegtraud “Trudy” B. Stewart, 82, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, after many years of courageously battling dementia. She was born on November 26, 1943, in Braunfels an der Lahn, Germany, where she grew up surrounded by her ten brothers and sisters.

While studying to become a nurse, Trudy met the love of her life, Sergeant Jack T. Stewart, who was stationed in Frankfurt with the U.S. Army. Despite the language barrier, their connection was instant and forever. They married on May 4, 1964, and shared 52 wonderful years together before Jack’s passing in 2016.

Trudy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, her parents, Andreas and Hildegard Jung; her sister, Erika Wasmer; and her brothers, Theo Kiefer and Andreas Jung.

She is survived her daughter, Jackie McClain of Frisco, TX: daughter, Sandra Olson and husband, George, of Sherman, TX; son Chris Stewart and wife Dawn of Flower Mound, TX, sister, Roswitha Kaiser of Germany, sister Lieselotte Reisch of Germany, sister Hildegard Volkl of Germany, sister Brigitte Jung of Germany, and six grandchildren, Karlie (Olson) Stewart and husband Corey of Sherman, TX, Will Olson and wife Carly of Anna, TX, Emily Salcido and husband Edgar of Van Alystne, TX, Jenna Stewart of McKinney, TX, Sean Kirk McClain and Taylor McClain of Coupeville, Washington plus two great grand-children, Jack Stewart and Caroline Olson.

For more than 43 years, Jack and Trudy owned and operated Stewart’s One Hour Martinizing in Sherman, where they built lasting friendships and treated every customer like family. Trudy never met a stranger — her humor, charm, and warmth made people feel instantly at home. Even in Memory Care, she was adored by staff and residents alike.

Trudy’s life centered on her faith, her family, her grandchildren, and her love of Germany. Though she was a devoted loving wife and mother, her greatest joy came from being “Nanny” to Karlie, Will, Emily, Jenna, Sean, and Taylor.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Celebrations Senior Living and Birdie Palliative Care & Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
