Stanley left this earth June 5, 2025. Stanley was born January 19, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to Bruen Smith and Laura Smith. He graduated from Central High School in 1974. He graduated from Western Kentucky and later joined the military which he served 12 years in the United States Army.
Stanley relocated to Sherman, Texas. He married DeeDee Reese and to their union his only daughter Brittany was born. They departed and later married Patsey Jones Smith, August 28, 1998, they were married 26 years.
He served God at New Hope Christian Church fellowship as Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School and Deacon.
Stanley was a mason and a proud member of Texoma Emmaus Community which he participated in the 1st Walk of Emmaus in Texoma.
He served in law enforcement as a police officer in Collin County and Grayson County,
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Bruen and Laura Smith and two brothers, Van and Daniel
Stanley was a diehard Cowboy fan. He loved them dearly regardless if they won or lost.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Patsey Smith of Denison, Texas, daughter Brittany Smith, stepson Jerry L. Jones Jr., 2 grandsons and loving in-laws, Audrey Jordan, Joyce Brown, Donna Ebow (Mike), Col. Robert Dean and other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be Friday, June 13th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
The funeral service will be Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 PM in the New Hope Christian Church Fellowship – 2810 S. Mirick Avenue in Denison Bishop Larry Goodman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Veteran Garden at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
