Celebrating the Life of Thelma Brown

Thelma Brown, 98, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Rowlett, Texas.

She was born on July 4, 1927, on a farm near Mangum, Oklahoma, to Otto and Faye Nabors. Thelma was one of four children, and during her childhood the family moved to Gordonville, Texas, where she graduated from high school.

On October 3, 1946, Thelma married the love of her life, Charles R. "Charlie" Brown. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with one daughter, Lana. Thelma worked for many years at M&P Bank and Grayson Bank, where she was respected by coworkers and made lasting friendships. She most enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and she will always be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Albert, Lester, and Edward; her husband, Charlie; and her daughter, Lana.

Thelma's memory will be cherished by her granddaughters, Alisha Hill and husband Brian, and Lindsay Arthur and husband Robert; her great-grandchildren, Lucas and Avery; and her son-in-law, John Snyder.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Waldo Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
