IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy
Raidt
October 8, 1961 – April 7, 2025
Timothy Raidt went to be with his heavenly Savior on April 7, 2025, at the age of 63. He is survived by the love of his life, Teresa (Shelton). A Celebration of Life will be planned for early summer.
He is lovingly remembered by his children Linda Sue Raidt (Marlene), Scott Sofijczuk (Marie) and Jennifer Sofijczuk; and his siblings Temperance Sims (Barry), Mitzi Lane (Mark), Michelle Morris (Greg), Leslie Jones Taylor (Jim) and Gregory Jones (Naomi). Tim had two mothers-in-law and two fathers-in-law, who trusted him completely with their daughter's heart.
His pride and joy were his grandchildren Matilda, Lottie, Ash, and Emerson, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Sue Jones (Griffin) and his father Joe Bob Raidt.
Tim lived with passion in every chapter of his life. In his youth, he served the military in the Army's Special Forces. While stationed in Germany, he quickly became fluent and embraced the way of life, including pigeon racing! Moving home to the States, he pursued a degree and accounting work. However, Dallas high rises, suits and ties, and working in an accounting office were not for him. Tim needed the outdoors. He formed a construction company that installed distribution cables across the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. From obtaining contracts to lineman work at the top of utility poles, he loved to work outside and would continue to learn and work outdoors for the rest of his life.
He adored hunting (deer, ducks, elk, etc.), fishing (streams of Colorado to the waters of Port Aransas to any lake or river he could drop a line in) and loved camping; anywhere Teresa wanted to go, Tim would take her there! Their love of travel kept them camping across Texas and Colorado, road tripping to Tennessee and Florida, and exploring Germany and England, together.
Tim was a generous man with a wide array of knowledge and experience. From gardening to mechanics to cooking to aquaponics and so much more, he was always ready to share and teach anyone with care and humility. While on mission trips, working in the west Texas heat to restore electricity to a foster home, rebuilding a stage in a church after a hurricane, or just repairing a fence, his love for people shone brightly. He was an inspiration to many, who loved him for his humble nature and storytelling.
Of all his passions, he valued his family the most, especially his wife. Tim loved Teresa with all his being, every day of his life.
