Tonda Kay Doty was born on June 4, 1963, and went to be with the Lord, December 9, 2023, at her home in Denison, TX.  Born in Sherman, the daughter of Weston Cox and Billie Durden, growing up in Collinsville and Sherman.  She graduated from Sherman High School in 1981. She ran Sherman Taxi with her mother and held multiple jobs at one time exemplifying her work ethic.  She loved her job at Graham Trucks for 14 years until her life changed due to a stroke.  The last few years of Tonda's life were hard due to her physical disabilities.  This did not change her motivation to be present for all the grandkids' activities.  When she set her mind to something there was no stopping her.

On December 4, 1981, she married the love of her life Elmer Richard Doty. Through her marriage she gained three stepsons and her only son Zackery.  Anyone who knows Tonda knows that "Boog" was her pride and joy.  She devoted her life to being a Mom and Memaw.  Tonda was known as being a second mom to many and she wore that title proudly.  She sacrificed so many things for her family because they were her priority.  Tonda loved her family gatherings, hosting Christmas, and laughing with her friends.  You knew when Tonda was around through her laughter, her smile would light up any room.

Tonda is survived by her husband Richard; her son Zack Doty wife Charish of Gainesville; her stepsons; Darrel Doty wife Roseli of Sanger, Richard Doty wife Dana of Denison. Sister Tara Rodriguez and husband Nick of Cypress, Brothers: Mike Cox, and Terry Cox of Collinsville; grandchildren: Gage, Nathaniel, Charleigh, Alex, Brittani, Jessica, Ashley, Laura, and Katie. Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Billie Durden, father Weston Cox, granddaughter Quinn Doty, Chandler Doty, nieces Taylor and Holland Rodriguez.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Singleton, James Laisy, Travis Robertson, Nick Rodriguez, Matt Montgomery and Wade Gunter.

Family night will be held at Waldo Funeral Home Thursday, December 14th from 6-8. Funeral services will be Friday December 15th at Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman TX at 2 p.m. with a graveside to follow at Holloway Cemetery 5684 Luella Rd, Sherman, TX.
