Vickie Brannon

Whitewright- Vickie Lynn (Maxwell) Brannon, 76, of Whitewright, Tx died June 28, 2018.  She was born to the late Lt Col (ret.) Wilton and Wilma (Clark) Maxwell on Feb 16, 1942 in Fresno, California. She passed away on June 28 after a long battle with cancer.  She is survived by her children, Heather (Jason Miller) Brannon of Fountain Inn, SC; and Jay (Shelly) Brannon of Houston.  She is also survived by her brother, Don Maxwell of Mesquite, NV; grandchildren, Lexi, Savannah, Hailey, Cassie, Stephen, and Camie; and 4 great grandchildren. Vickie was a Special Education teacher in the Whitewright ISD for 39 years, from 1978 to 2017.  She was very passionate about making sure all children, even those with learning or behavior difficulties, were able to learn practical skills to help them throughout their lives. For the past several years she was able to devote more time to another one of her passions, breeding and showing Boxer dogs. She had a very special bond with her dogs and that community.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27 at Waldo Funeral Home at 3pm.
