Guadalupe "Wally" Johnson, 1951-2025

Wally Johnson, proud father of three children, died on November 28, 2025 at the age of 74.

He was born in Brownsville, TX in 1951 to Eloisa Flores Johnson and Ramon Johnson. Wally earned an MBA at Pan American University before beginning his career as mall manager and later regional transportation planner. He was also a keen entrepreneur with strong business acumen and worked hard during his career and retirement to support and leave a legacy for his family.

Wally is survived by his wife, best friend, and travel partner of 41 years, Connie Johnson. He is also survived by his three beloved children, Corban, Daniel, and Olivia, to whom he was deeply devoted and who dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them.

Wally's joyfulness and zest for life were apparent to all who knew him, and he developed friendships across the globe during his extensive travels to locations including Italy, Spain, Budapest, and Australia. Wally approached new experiences with enthusiasm and was often the first to wake and last to sleep, greeting each day with positivity and zeal.

Wally also took great pride in his community work as a Rotarian, serving at various times as President, Assistant to the District Governor, and Trustee, and being recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was the embodiment of "Service Before Self" and was instrumental in many community projects, including the planning and 2024 construction of the Sherman Rotary Club Centennial Park.

Wally's memorial will be held on Saturday, January 03, 2025, at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Sherman Rotary Club Charitable and Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 3285, Sherman, TX 75091-3285.
