Wanda M. Usrey of Sherman, Tx, left this world to be with the Lord on December 31, 2023, after a brief illness at the age of 82.

Born on June the 28th 1941 in Sherman TX to Ray and Lucille Watson, she grew up in Sherman and attended Sherman Independent School District. On October the 25th 1956, she married the love of her life, James Usrey, who was her best friend and life partner.

They enjoyed 59 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 2016. Wanda worked at Texas Instruments for 31 years where she retired after a dedicated career. She raised three sons and was very active in the Bethel Baptist Church of Howe, Tx, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

She also enjoyed fishing, quilting and other group crafting projects.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband James Usrey, son Brian Usrey, parents Ray and Lucille Watson, as well as two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by brother Steve Watson and his wife Jacci, Sons, Roger Usrey, Roy Usrey and his wife Tammy all of Sherman, grandchildren, Karmen Usrey and partner Brian Jeter of Howe, Fabian Usery of Howe, Timothy Usrey and wife Meghan of Anna, Matthew Usrey and wife Kim of Bells, Jessica Rogers and husband Steven of Sherman, Daniel Usrey and wife Shelby of Fate, Tx, John Michael Smith and wife Danielle of Sherman, Travis Usrey and wife Megan of Denison, Tanner Usrey and wife Kelsi of Aubrey, Tx. Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday January the 3rd at Waldo Funeral Home.

A funeral service celebrating Wanda's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January the 4th, at Bethel Baptist Church in Howe. Rev. Weldon Hudson will officiate.

Burial will be at Akers Cemetery immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Usrey, Fabian Usrey, Daniel Allen, Travis Usrey, Matthew Usrey, and Steven Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Smith and Braylan Usrey.
