IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William C.
Gordon
April 26, 1947 – February 6, 2023
On Monday, February 6 th , 2023, William C. Gordon (Bill) of Colbert, Oklahoma, while surrounded by his family, transitioned to his eternal home in heaven.
Bill was born on April 26,1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Claude Hope and Ella Mae (Lawrence) Gordon. Upon graduating in 1966 from Robert A. Taft Sr. High School in Cincinnati, Bill joined the Air Force and embarked upon his military career. That military career led to meeting the love of his life (Carolyn) and subsequently building his home and family in Colbert. After being honorably discharged; he took on a new career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as an Engineer. He continued in this capacity in conjunction with serving in the Army Reserves for many years until his retirement.
Bill was a Christian and loved the Lord. This was demonstrated through the life he led and the countless acts of kindness to family, friends, and neighbors. Additionally, he served as Deacon at Greater Coffey Memorial COGIC in Denison, Texas.
He loved everyone and never met a stranger. There are countless stories that can be told by anyone he knew in which he made you laugh until you cried. These stories will live on through his family and friends and will give strength in the days to come.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and one nephew – Keith Roberts.
Bill leaves to continue his legacy his beloved wife of 53 years Carolyn; two sons Brittney (Amanda) and Elvin, two daughters: Dawn (Eric) Hunt, Monet (Doug) Wheeler and daughter in love Veronica Brownlow. He also leaves one brother: Charlie Gordon (Eppie), and four sisters: Louella (Fred) Mitchell; Emma Hutchinson; Lizzie Ree (Eugene) Roberts and Dorothy (Jewell) Greene.
Bill was "PawPaw" to Jaydan, Ethan, Christian, Brylan, Bentley, and Kobe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of close friends.
