Graveside Services for Zola Brewster, age 99, of Sherman, Tx, will be held on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Zola Brewster was born June 7, 1925, to the late James Henry Burk and Sally Terry Burk in Oneida, Tennessee. On January 18,1946, she married James Charles Brewster. They were married for 51 years before his passing in 1997.

Zola worked for a secret project for the United States government called the Manhattan Project during World War II. She made components for the world's first Atomic weapon, it was later revealed to employees what the project was for. She later spent her time as a housewife. She had a love of caring for her home. Her work never stopped, and she thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. She enjoyed baking and was always looking for something sweet to snack on. She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by son Dennis Brewster, grandchildren Brandy Brewster (Michael), Danny Brewster (Kim), Bryan Brewster (Gabby), Kelli Luster (Randy), and Tyler Brewster. Great Grandchildren Emily, Kylin, Austin, Zoe, Colin, Briley, Danielle, Emma, Colton, Rylie, Makaila, Bryan, Kadon, Caleigh, Raylynn, Tyler, Issac and one sister, Geneva Koger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Zola is preceded in death by Husband James, sons Bobbie Gerald and Kenneth Brewster, brothers Floyd, Ethol, Cleduith, Otis, Arlie, and James Allen.

Family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. before going to graveside services.
