Eunice Cooper's Obituary
Howe- Funeral services for Eunice Catherine Cooper will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27 in the First United Methodist Church of Howe. Rev. Tom Medley of the church will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Shane Cavender, Matt Cavender, Sam Ingram, Tom DeFrange, Billy Yanway, and Mike Middleton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be N.D. Moses, George Cavender, Wayne Gray, Robbie Canaday, Jim Sutton, Ned Culp, and Harold Taylor. Mrs. Cooper passed away Monday, December 24 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center at the age of 79.
Eunice was born on July 20, 1928 in Oklahoma to the late William and Nina (Beauchamp) Welsh. She married Robert Cooper on August 10, 1947 in Clayton, New Mexico. Eunice and Robert were married for over 60 years until his death in October of 2007. Mrs. Cooper was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and making crafts and was well known for her cooking, canning, and especially her pickles. She also worked at Yonce's Grocery store in Howe during the late 60's and early 70's. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Stockton Sunday School Class and the Wednesday Workers.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by three daughters, Judy Milton and husband Gary of Sherman, Gay Ingram and husband Gary of Grapevine, and Theresa Holland and husband George of Howe; five grandchildren, Shane Cavender and wife Paula of Howe, Matt Cavender and wife Sandy of Howe, Leslie DeFrange and husband Tom of Howe, Sarah Ingram of Dallas, and Sam Ingram of Abilene; eight great grandchildren; one brother Gerry Welsh and wife Judy of Tucson, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Billie Jean Wall of Montezuma, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Wednesday at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Howe at 810 N. Denny, Howe, TX 75459. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
