Betty S. Sakowski
A mass of Christian Burial for Betty Sakowski will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Sakowski passed away Sunday, March 16 in the Homestead of Denison at the age of 72.
Betty was born on October 29, 1935 in Pottsboro, Texas to the late Claud and Ada (Smith) Pinkston. She graduated from Sherman schools and married Henry Robert Sakowski on June 11, 1955 in Sherman. Betty worked for Jack and Jen from 1972 to 1984 and was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Belinda Sakowski of Sherman; two sons, John Sakowski and wife Lynn of Sherman and Christopher Sakowski and wife Sharon of Denison; 6 grandchildren, Steven Sakowski, Mary Elizabeth Sakowski, Jennifer Martin, Henry Robert Sakowski, Katherine Sakowski, and Michael Sakowski; 2 great grandchildren, Austin Martin and Nicole Shea; one sister, Mary Jo Rhodes of Irving; and one brother Harold Pinkston and his wife Jean of Whitesboro. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, three brothers, Ralph, Ernest, and Charlie Pinkston, and two sisters, Murkey Lehr and Billie Jones
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Tuesday at Waldo Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm following the rosary.
