Funeral services for Lavaughn A. ?Spooky? Lively age 75, of Sherman, TX will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stan McNutt will officiate and the burial will follow at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Spooky passed away on January 15, 2009 at her residence in Sherman.
She was born on September 7, 1933 in Estelline, TX the daughter of Ruben H. and O. Lillian Martin. After graduating High School she later married Lawrence Craig Lively on Feb 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2000. His military service moved them to several different States during their marriage. She started working as a telephone operator in the 1950's in Olney, TX and later in Alabama. During the 1980's and 90's she worked at Winn's and then Dollar General as a Sales Clerk. Spooky was a member of the Liberty Lighthouse Church in Sherman.
She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Atkinson and husband Randy of Sherman, TX and Kimberli Crouse and husband Gary of Bells, TX, one son, Roger Lively and wife Shawna of Wilmington, N.C., six grandchildren, Kevin Crouse, Keith Atkinson, Justin Atkinson, Preston Polston, Haylie Lively and Caroline Lively, two brothers, Wayland Corgill and wife Carole of Gatesville, TX and Wortham Corgill and wife Louise of Tomball, TX. Spooky is also survived by several nieces, nephews any many friends. She was a loving wife, mother and her grandchildren adored their Nanny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Zita Bernhardt and Nilda Rogers.
The family will receive friends at Waldo Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior the service.
