Dale E Pierce's Obituary

Funeral services for Dale Everett Pierce will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 13 in the Waldo Funeral Chapel. Rev. James Heffington of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. After a courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Pierce passed away Thursday, July 9 at this home in Sherman at the age of 58. The online register book can be signed at waldofuneralhome.com.

Dale was born on October 11, 1950 in Marlow, Oklahoma. He attended school in California and joined the US Navy and was stationed at the Lemoore Naval Air Station for three years. Dale had many varied interests. He enjoyed many different types of music. One of his favorites was an Italian opera singer by the name of Andrea Bocelli. His album "Sogno" helped Dale pass from this world to his next resting place. He also had a great love of Country music. One of his favorite songs was "Neon Moon" by Brooks and Dunn. Dale had a voracious appetite for the written word and could spend hours reading. One of his favorite authors is James Patterson. Dale also enjoyed National Geographic and traveled to places that he knew he would not have a chance to get to. Dale also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Of course, the largest accomplishment that he was most noted for was his skills as a bowler. He and his mother would travel to different cities for tournaments. Dale accepted his Hall of Fame induction certificate this year for his bowling. He could have easily become a professional if only he had had the sponsorship. He has a group of friends from his involvement with bowling that can never be replaced. Thank you to all of you for being his friend. He loved getting together with his buddies and playing Texas Hold-Em. Best of all, Dale was a most loving son to his mother and an awesome brother to his three sisters and one brother.

Dale is survived by his mother, Wanda J. Pierce of Sherman; three sisters, Ruth Burton of Oroville, CA, Cheryl Pierce of Marlow, OK, and Patricia Denise Mishoe of Lemoore, CA; one brother, Greg Pierce of Sherman; five nephews, Sam Pierce of Sherman, Paul and Jeff Burton of Magalia, CA, Chris Burton of Oroville, CA; and Jarrod Pierce of Lemoore, CA; one niece, Alicia Mishoe of Lemoore, CA; three great nieces and a whole lot of distant relatives too numerous to list. Last, but, not least, thank you to his Hospice workers, nurses Michele and Raija and especially to his aide, Laura. She really was a bright spot in his day. Dale was truly a "Hall of Famer" to the End. God Speed, Dale.
