Bob Hampton

Sherman- Graveside services for Robert E. "Bob" Hampton will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 22 at West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hampton, 71, passed away unexpectedly Friday December 17 at Texas Healthcare Presbyterian-WNJ.

Robert Edwin Hampton was born June 19, 1939 in Naples, Florida to the late Alton and Ester (Richardson) Hampton. He married Mary Louise Prevatt on February 4, 1961 in Orlando, Florida. Bob owned several gas stations in Florida but most recently had worked as a supervisor for Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers. Retiring in 2001 and moving to Texas, Mr. Hampton enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and was a devoted fan of his beloved Florida Gators. He will be remembered by his family for his commitment and love of family, leading by example and always making time for them.

Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary of Sherman; two daughters, Kelli Hampton of Sherman and Stacy Boyles and husband Danny of Pottsboro; one son, Chad Hampton and wife Angela of Clinton, TN; five grandchildren, Landi Valentin and husband Brian of Van Alstyne, Brett Willett of Lufkin; Holly Whisenant and husband Kurt of Austin, Mary Boyles of Pottsboro, and Leanne Hampton of Altamonte Springs, FL; one great grandchild, Cohen Valentin of Van Alstyne; and one brother, Kenny Hampton of Macon, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
