Funeral Mass for Guadalupe Macias, age 49, of Sherman, TX will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Sherman, TX. Burial will follow at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
Guadalupe passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman.
He was born on May 9, 1962, in Hollis, OK, the son of Jose and Virginia A. Almendarez Macias. He graduated from High School in Wauchula, FL. Guadalupe joined the United States Army and served our country in Desert Storm. He married Maria Gutierrez on February 3, 1999. Guadalupe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Hispanic Heritage. He was employed at United Rentals in Sherman. Guadalupe had many work skills which allowed him to do many different jobs.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Macias of Sherman, TX, parents, Joe and Virginia Macias of McKinney, TX, two brothers, Steve Macias of McKinney, TX, and Joe Macias, III of Wauchula, FL, two daughters, Pelina Macias of Wauchula, FL and Patsy Macias of Wauchula, FL, three sons, Jacob Macias of Temple, TX and Tony Macias of Wauchula, FL and Nick Macias of McKinney, TX, two step daughters, Patricia Rosas of Marietta, OK and Priscilla Flores of Madill, OK and step son, Ruben Rocha of Arlington, TX. He is also survived by his 16 Grandchildren and one great grandson.
Guadalupe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Macias, Sr. and Trinidad and Aurelia Almendarez.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Family night will follow from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
