Bonnie Faye Kirkpatrick
Denison- Funeral services for Bonnie Faye Kirkpatrick will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday January 3 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Grissom and Dr. Jack Ridlehoover will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Kelly Clark, Matt Hardenburg, Ben Tate, Jeremy Gilliam, Jason Wesely, and Blake Wesely serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, 92, passed away Friday December 30 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ.
Bonnie was born December 15, 1919 in Gunter to the late PW and Sally (Lusk) Baker.She graduated from Gunter schools and studied at the Parkland School of Nursing, graduating as a Register Nurse. On November 30, 1945 Bonnie married Clyde Kirkpatrick in Dallas. They had been married over 35 years when Clyde passed away in October 1981. She and Clyde were charter members of the Twin Cities Baptist Church and Bonnie taught Sunday School there for many years.
All of her life, Bonnie was a devoted caregiver. As a young adult she cared for family members and nursing was just a natural progression for her. Her compassionate and caring spirit made her an excellent nurse. She worked many years at Texoma Medical Center before she retired in 1980.
Having been raised in the country, Bonnie developed a strong work ethic and a love for the simple ways of country living. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and gardening and loved living in her country home outside Pottsboro.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick is survived by two daughters, Dianna Hardenburg and her husband David of Pottsboro and Debbie Wesely and husband Dave of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Kelly Clark and wife Kelly of Denison, Matt Hardenburg and wife Leslie of Pottsboro, Vanessa Tate and husband Ben of Lubbock, Valerie Hardenburg of Austin, Michelle Hardenburg of Pottsboro, Jeremy Gilliam of Tom Bean, and Jason, Blake, and Kyla Wesely, all of Omaha; three great grandchildren, Krystal and Chynna Clark, and Brayden James; another expectant great grandson, Weston Hardenburg (due in February); brother, Jack Ridlehoover and wife Betty of Abilene; son-in-law, Tommy Gilliam of Tom Bean; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Suzanne Clinton and Samie Gilliam; one sister, Georgia Cockrell; and three brothers, Clarence, Neely, and Lawrence Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123-1718 or to the Twin Cities Baptist Church at 2100 Hwy 691 Sherman, TX75090.
