Brent McConnell



Sherman- Funeral services for Brent McConnell will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 8 at First Baptist Church. Dr. Mike Lawson will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Gunter Cemetery with Terry Sutherland, David Wagner, Brad Kerrigan, Lonnie Dereberry, Fabian Trimble, and Bobby Holt serving as pallbearers. Mr. McConnell, 57, passed away Saturday October 4 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Medical Center.

Brent was born June 9, 1957 in Sherman to JP and Jean (Cross) McConnell. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1975 and attended Grayson County College. Brent will be remembered for his strong work ethic. He was a hard-worker and successfully ran several clubs in the Dallas area. Brent loved his friends and family and always enjoyed his time with them. Faithfully attending his kid's sports events and other activities, Brent always made time for his children. He and his son Dylan maintained a special relationship through their quality times together. He loved to cook and play horseshoes, and volleyball at his mom's at the Sunday family lunches.

Brent is survived by two daughters, Ashley Cox of McKinney and Jameson Beard of Las Vegas; son, Dylan McConnell of Denison; two grandchildren, Cayden Aklinski and Zayne Holmes; mother, Jean McConnell of Sherman; two brothers, Brad McConnell and wife Vicki of Sherman and Les McConnell and wife Susan of Sherman; sister, Debby Wiley and husband Mack of Sherman; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Kendall McConnell of Denison. He was preceded in death by his father, JP McConnell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday October 7th at Waldo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Rivers Outreach at 210 S. Rusk #2, Sherman, TX 75090. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
