Joyce Workman Claxton
Sherman- Funeral services for Bobbie Joyce Claxton will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 24 at Waldo Funeral Home. W.R. Workman will officiate. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Claxton, 83, passed away Thursday October 16 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Medical Center.
Joyce was born August 6, 1931 in Telephone, Texas to the late John and Evie (Medlen) Odum. Joyce attended Gober schools and worked as a beautician for several years at Trend Makers Beauty Salon. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Mrs. Claxton is survived by her husband Wayne of Bonham; three sons, Rocky Lee Workman and wife Chau of Rowlette, Randy Carlton Workman and wife Beckie of Bells, and Terry Dave Workman and wife Patty of Seguin; step son, Gary Claxton and wife Suzan of Carthage; two step daughters; Janet Claxton of Mulberry and Jane Hall and husband Keith of Mulberry; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister, Evie Lois McLemore and husband Harrell of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Workman, brothers, Gerald Odum and Ralph Odum.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday October 23 at Waldo Funeral Home. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
