Funeral services for Delmar Lee Rogers, age 80, of Sherman, TX will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Josh Burton of Pottsboro First Baptist Church will officiate and burial will follow at Akers Cemetery in Sherman, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.

Delmar passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his home in Sherman.

He was born in Grayson County on March 17, 1934 the son of George Roman Rogers and Ethel Ann Smith Rogers. Delmar graduated from Sherman High School. He married Joan Thomas on September 4, 1953 in Sherman, TX. He worked as a Truck Driver for Mrs. Tucker, Anderson Clayton, Kraft and Alan Richey for 24 years. He also worked for the Sherman Fire Department for 11 years.

Delmar is survived by his wife Joan Rogers of Sherman, TX, one son, Dennis Lee Rogers and wife Molly of Sherman, TX, six grandchildren, Candace Hatch and husband Lou of Pottsboro, TX, Kelly Jennings and Fiancé Denby Marshall of Pottsboro, TX, Wesley Craig Rogers of Sherman, TX, Dennis Lee Rogers Jr and Fiancé Jennifer of Denison, TX, Mike Davis and wife Nicole of Amarillo, TX, and Derek Davis and wife Sandy of Providence, TX, 11 great grandchildren, Forrest Hatch, Madison Hatch, Austin Jennings, Jade Ward, Harlie Raybeck, Maci Rogers, Landon Rogers, Caden Rogers, Haygen Rogers, Grey Davis and Serenity Cogburn. He is also survived by four cousins, Danny Smith, Carl Wayne Baker, Dwight Rogers and Lanny Rogers.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Ginger Jennings Shaw and brother, George Joseph Rogers.

Family night will be on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Lee Rogers Sr, Wesley Craig Rogers, Dennis Lee Rogers Jr, Mike Davis, Paul Brown and Larry Lidy. Honorary pallbearers will be Lou Hatch, Weldon Walker, Stanley Nelson and Wendyl McAdoo.

The family would like to express and special thank you to Home Hospice of Grayson County, Sandy Jobe, grandson, Wesley Rogers and all of the friends and family for the special care given over the last four months.
