Claude Slawson was born September 23, 1955 in Ft. Hood, Texas to Clyde and Elaine (Murphey) Slawson and passed from this life on January 1, 2015 in Sherman at the age of 59.

Claude attended schools in Tom Bean until the 11th grade and was a graduate of the Denison High School in 1974. Claude was employed with Hitchcock from 1973 to 1984. He was a tradesman which lead to his own tile insulation business 'Tile by Claude'. Claude was a jokester to everyone who knew him and always had a smile. He loved spending time and being with his family. Claude was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Claude is survived by his daughters, Becky Sanders and her husband, Kenny; and Bobbie Russell and her husband, Andy; grandchildren, Kasey Sanders, Shelby and Sawyer Russell; his first wife, Beverly Clark; current good friend, Paula Tyree; mother, Elaine Slawson; brothers, John Slawson and James Slawson; sister Roxy Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Claude was preceded in death by his father, Clyde "Pappy" Slawson.

Graveside services for Claude will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 5, at Vittitoe Cemetery near Whitewright with Pastor Houston Garner officiating. Pallbearers will be Blake Slawson, Garrett Slawson, Scott Williams, Jacob Williams, Carlos Perez and Jesus "Chewy" Chaves. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Slawson, James Gauntt, Larry Moss Sr., Billy Ray "Runt" Simms and Tracy Woodall.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, Jan. 4, from 6-8 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
