My dear sweet Willie went to his eternal rest on September 22, 2015 after suffering a stroke in August.
Willie was a lifelong resident of Sherman area and a fifth generation Sherman/Denison resident. He graduated from Sherman High School, Berean Bible College and Austin College. Willie was a very outgoing, gregarious man who never met a stranger. He had a brilliant mind and loved to write and had several of his writings published. The one thing he wanted everyone to know about him is that he loved the Lord.
Willie loved to play golf, poker, attend bible studies and was a member of several coffee groups. His favorite activity was thinking up ways to spoil his wife and show her how much he loved her.
In addition to his wife, Rita, Willie is survived by a son, and a daughter: Jason and Stephanie. He was very proud of them. He is also survived by four sisters, Johnnie Mae Barth and her husband Al, Pat Malacara and her husband Julio, Innette Marr and her husband Forrest, and Carol Williston, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
Funeral services for Willie will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26th, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Brian Ulch officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, the 25th, from 6-8 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
