Edsel Lee Kuykendall, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. He was born on Wednesday, October 14th, 1925 to Elmer and Bessie (Kile) Kuykendall, the oldest of three children. Ed served in the United States Navy during World War II on Iwo Jima. He married Julia Ann Lowery on February 7th, 1951, in Paris, Arkansas, and have two sons, Samuel Lee and Daniel Wayne. Ed graduated with a bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech in 1952, and he received his MBA from Southern Methodist University in 1962. He worked for Texas Instruments for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Ed and Judy were longtime members of Luella Baptist Church.
Ed, known to many who loved him as Kirk, enjoyed taking family camping trips, gardening, farming, fishing, and sharing his farm with his grandchildren. Kirk and Judy liked to take road trips and see the USA.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julia; two sons and their spouses, Samuel and Sharon Kuykendall and Daniel and Rhonda Kuykendall; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jill and Chris Blachly, Sarah and Chris Butler, Scott and Laura Kuykendall, and Sydney and Clay Donovan; and three great-grandsons, Joshua Butler, Harrison Blachly, and Thomas Kuykendall. He also leaves behind his sister, Lila Grist; brother, Glendon Kuykendall, many friends and extended family.
Ed was loved by his family and will be missed greatly.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 28th, at Luella Baptist Church with Pastor David Morgan officiating.
