Helen Phelps

Helen R. Phelps, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was laid to rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, after passing away from this life and into the Kingdom of God on Mother's Day, May 8, 2016. She was proceeded in death by her much-loved husband, William L. Phelps, Jr.

Helen was born in Pike, Texas on November 2, 1925, to Gladys Garren Sharp and L.T. Sharp. She grew up, for the most part, in Sherman, spending summers with her father's family in Blue Ridge, Pike and Frognot.

She graduated from Sherman High School and married William L. Phelps, Jr. in Houston Texas on November 11, 1943, just before he headed off to fight for America in World War II.

Helen and Bill had three daughters - Patricia, Pamela and Deborah.

Patricia Phelps Hunt; now of Mt. Juliet, TN and Deborah Phelps Papatonis, of McKinney, TX survive their parents, as well as their sister Pamela, and Helen's beloved oldest grandson and Patricia's oldest son, William A. Hunt.

Helen is also survived by her son-in-law Joseph F. Hunt of Mt. Juliet, TN, her grandson Joseph P. Hunt of Marysville, OH, her granddaughter, Holly Arnold, and her husband, Tommy Arnold, of Las Vegas, NV, son-in-law Frank Papatonis, of McKinney, TX, granddaughters Alexandra and Christina Papatonis of McKinney, TX, granddaughter Stephanie Papatonis-Shaffer and her husband, Austin Shaffer, of McKinney, TX, as well as great-grandchildren Anderson, Avery and Annaliese Hunt of Columbus, OH, Hannah and Emily Hunt of Marysville, OH, Patrick and Sarah Arnold of Las Vegas, NV, and Zoe Shaffer of McKinney, TX.

May her memory be eternal. She was well-loved and will be missed until we meet again in heaven.
