Hayward Brown was born in Denison, TX to Frank and Rhobelia Brown on May 12, 1939. He was the fourth child out of 10 children born to the union.
Hayward attended Terrell School in Denison and then spent the next 50 years in California. He loved God, his family and friends throughout his life. He was a self taught man who used his abilities to become one of the best truck drivers and diesel mechanics in Southern California and later at Loves travel Stop in Colbert, OK.
In his early life he met and married Cecelia Doss and together they raised 5 children. Later in life he married Shirley Ann Underwood. They were married for 35 years and raised one son together.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of the home; daughters, Vivian Brown Smith of Conyers, GA, Debra Ann Doss and Mary J. Russell, both of Oceanside, CA, and Tracy D. Armistead of Sherman, TX; sons, Hayward Brown, Jr. of Playa del Rey, CA and Deon Jan Brown of Denison, TX ; two brothers, William Brown of Baton Rouge, LA and Ernest Brown of Inglewood, CA; two sisters, Frankie Jones of Los Angeles, CA and Mildred Ball of Glen Avon, CA; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Deon Jan Brown, Hayward Brown, Jr., Bronz Carlisle, Deshawn Brown, Walker Mitchell and Luis Arceo and Honorary Pallbearers, Darryl Herbst and Derek Arceo.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5th at Waldo Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 2411 Woodlake Road, Denison, on Monday, June 6th at 1:00 PM with Pastor Michael Mattil officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
