Robert Turner Weaver "Bob" was born to Melvin McCormack and Billie Blair McCormack in Shepherd, Texas on February 13, 1926 and passed away in Sherman,Texas on September 2, 2017.

Following the sudden death of his father in 1929, Bob and his older brother, Melvin Jr were placed in an orphanage for a short time, until their Grandma McCormick rescued them and raised them until their mother married JC Weaver, who later adopted both boys.

Bob was mostly raised in the Houston area, until his family relocated to Ft. Worth where he graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He was an athlete and Golden Glove. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17. He was a WWII veteran, who served in the South Pacific as an electrician on the USS Hornet. He served for 3 years and was honorably discharged as the rank of Electrician's mate. In 2013, Bob and his brother Melvin were selected to take the Honor Flight to Washington DC. to reflect at their memorials and to be honored for their service.

Following his discharge from the Navy, he attended TCU and SMU on the GI Bill. While at TCU he met Julia (Judy)Rose Evans. They married in 1948 and were married for 37 years until her death in 1985.
Bob and Judy had 3 children who were raised in Richardson, Texas until the family moved to Van Alstyne, Texas in 1969. After retiring in 1972 as the President of US Brass in Plano, Texas, Bob became an avid cattle rancher, as well a real estate and stock investor. He was an generous booster for his children's school and athletic programs,and he helped start the first Van Alstyne band program as well as the Van Alstyne Library.

In 1988, Bob married Sue Hart Oakes and they were married for almost 30 years until his death. They enjoyed living in Van Alstyne, Lake Kiowa and most recently Sherman, Texas. They had a blessed life together and gracefully blended their families.

Bob is preceded in death by his first wife Judy Weaver, his brother Melvin Weaver, Jr and his daughter Deborah Ann Weaver O'Neal.

He is survived by his wife Sue Hart Weaver; sons Robert T.Weaver, Jr and wife Mary Ann and children Jennifer and Melissa Weaver; Blair T. Weaver and wife Cindy and children David Weaver and wife Megan, Kyle Weaver, Heath Weaver and wife Kendall; Son-in-Law Rick O'Neal and children Michael and wife Michelle; Steven and wife Mindi. As well as 4 great children and his beloved dog Precious.

He is also survived by Sue Weaver's children and their families: Debra Oakes Pettit husband Randy and children Laura and Lydia Pettit; Dana Oakes Doss husband Rex and children Hailey and husband Thomas Mahoney and Lucy Doss; John R. Oakes wife Janell and children Witt and Haden Oakes.

Bob will be remembered for how fiercely he loved his family, his willingness to work hard, as well as his integrity, honesty and fairness. Bob's sons said they will always remember him telling them to "keep their nose clean and work hard". They said their father spent his life teaching his children the value of hard work and having integrity in the process.

Pall Bearers are his sons, grandsons and step son.

Visitation is Tuesday September 5th from 6pm to 7 pm at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel at Waldo Funeral Home on Wednesday September 6th at 10:00. 619 North Travis Street, Sherman, Texas 75090.

Burial to follow at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
