IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christy Lynn
Pope
January 15, 1959 – February 23, 2022
Christy Lynn Pope, 63 years old, of Denison, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a long courageous battle against cancer.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held 10 am Thursday, March 3 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Al Dusek of Mineloa will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday evening at Waldo Funeral Home.
Christy was born January 15, 1959 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ray and Jackie W. (Standeford) Foster.
She was a production supervisor at Ruiz Foods Products in Denison. In her 14 years of employment there, literally hundreds of her "Kids" fondly called her "Mama Pope". She was a loyal, caring and sometimes hard-headed person who would "give the shirt off of her back" and do without things herself to make sure others had what they needed.
Prior to Ruiz Foods, she had worked at Weber Aircraft, LOF, Aunt Susie's and as a bartender for many years at Pelicans Landing.
Christy loved doing arts and crafts. Her true joy was spending time with her two children. She especially loved being Gammy to her 4 grandchildren, all of whom she was so very proud.
She was fun to be around and could poke fun as well as she would receive it. She was always honest. And, if you asked her for advice or opinion, you'd better be ready for a response that you might or might not like. In fact, sometimes you didn't even have to ask for it! She was a great friend and great listener. Christy will be greatly missed by everyone that ever knew her.
Christy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. She is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Watson of Whitesboro; a son, Brent Watson and his wife Molly of Hayes, Kansas; brothers, Paul Foster of Reed Springs, Mo and Joel Foster of Kimberlin City, Mo. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Brooklynn Benedict and Delaynee Schneider of Whitesboro, Alexia and Mayleigh Watson of Hayes, Ka; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brent Watson, Johnny Atwood, Charles Scott, Bert Cavanaugh, Robert Cole, Danny Lemmons, Kayden Eitelman and Nailen Eitelman.
Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. The online guestbook may be signed at waldofuneralhome.com.
