Deborah Kay Shearer's Obituary

Deborah Kay Cantrell Shearer

1953-2022

Deborah Kay Cantrell Shearer affectionately known as Deby, 69, passed away at her daughter's home in Savoy Texas on August 17, 2022. In the days and months preceding her death she was regardfully loved and cared for by her daughter, son, & family. She was never left alone. The family would like to acknowledge the

exceptional care provided to Deby by the staff including nurses and caretakers from Grayson County Home Hospice over the last 2 months.

Deby was born in Sherman Texas on May 11, 1953. Deby was a very happy and peaceful person. She never had a negative word for others. In her latter years, her filter may have weakened. She was a "hippie" girl at heart. She loved nature and she loved her family most of all. It seemed inevitable that Deby was destined to care for people. As a young adult she cared for her second husband, Gary Lane Hall, who eventually succumbed to a rare bleeding disorder. She then worked her way thru college as a single mother of 2 to obtain her license as a Registered Nurse. She worked caring for her patients at Medical City Dallas, the burn unit at Parkland Hospital, as a Behavioral Health Nurse, & as a Home Hospice Nurse. She later cared for her 3 rd husband Darrell Shearer who preceded her in death. Her life was not without hardships, but she lived a good life centered by her love for family and Caring for others. The last several months of her life she battled cancer.

Deby was preceded in death by her parents Bobby Charles Cantrell and Thelma Rose Cantrell, her sister Brenda Ann Cantrell Harbour, two brothers David Mark Cantrell and Larry Dale Cantrell, & her husbands David Wayne Petty, Gary Lane Hall, and Darrell Shearer. Deby is survived by her brother Ernie Doyne Cantrell, sister Lori Dannette Cantrell Bevill, daughter Mellissa Shea Walker and her husband Keith Walker, son Justin Lane Hall and his wife Briane Hall, foreign exchange son Simon Milkovic, her grandchildren Jazmine, Kyrsten, Garrett, Mason, McKenna, and Kaylynn, many nieces, nephews, aunts, & uncles.
