Patterson, Jr.
September 11, 1945 – March 6, 2022
On September 11, 1945, God blessed Willie Faye and Ivory Andrew Patterson, Sr. with a son, who they named Ivory Andrew "Pat" Patterson, Jr. Ivory was the second of 3 children and grew up in his hometown of Sherman, TX (Fairview). He was a graduate of Fred Douglas High School and class of 1963, he played on both football and basketball team and attended Prairie View A&M University, in Prairie View, Texas. Ivory met and married the love of his life, Rozella Posey and they enjoyed 41 years of marital bliss.
Ivory accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He was a faithful and diligent member of St John CME Church of Sherman, Texas for many years. The Lord blessed him with 3 step-children Brenda Furtch, of Sherman, Texas, Marilyn Adams of Sherman, Texas and Lynn Ray Posey of Sherman, TX. Ivory worked during his lifetime in various capacities, namely as a welder of Oscar Mayer in Sherman, Texas for over 20 years where he retired. Ivory served on the city council board of Van Alstyne, TX. for over ten years, his hobbies and past-time was farming, watching sports especially the "Dallas Cowboys," barbecuing , family and friends gatherings. Ivory loved life and lived it to the fullest and his presence on this earth will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Lord saw that Ivory was getting tired on Sunday, March 06, 2022, the Lord called him home to rest. He is reunited with those who have gone before;(both) parents, (brother) Tommie L. Patterson and (stepson) Lynn Ray Posey. He leaves his (wife) Rozella Patterson of Van Alstyne, Tx. (brother) Larry Patterson (Mary Joyce) of Sherman, TX, (stepdaughters) Brenda Furtch and Marilyn Adams both of Sherman, TX, 11grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A very special thanks to James and Gayle Flanery and Robinson (Deek) and Patricia Orr both of Van Alstyne, TX.
A Memorial Celebration will be Sunday, March 13 th at 2 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Erie Furtch officiating.
