Marian E. Francis – Sherman, Texas

Marian Elizabeth Francis went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 13th at the age of 87. Marian was born in Sherman, TX on April 6, 1931 to Jewel and Edna Holcomb. She was a sweet, loving, strong woman. She was blessed with 2 daughters to whom she was a caring and loving mother. Marian retired from the Social Security Administration in 1988 after 30 years of service. She then obtained her real estate license and headed up the Welcome Sherman Newcomers to fill her days.  She loved to travel with family and friends. She also stayed busy attending all the many activities of her grandchildren.  Marian always encouraged her family to follow their dreams and was always willing to give her love and support. Marian is survived by daughter Kim McKinney and husband Dennis of Sherman, and daughter Kata Rafferty and husband Tim of Temple, TX.  "Gran" will be missed by her 5 grandchildren: Mori McKinney Kobow of Sherman, Krista McKinney Tanaka of Duncan, OK, Joseph Rafferty of College Station, Sarah Rafferty McLaughlin of Bryan, Melissa Rafferty of Cleveland, OH, and 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, TX at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2018.  Family night will be Monday, July 16 ^th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.  Pastor David Murphy of North Park Baptist Church will officiate.
