Ruby Sprinkle

Sherman- Funeral services for Ruby June Sprinkle will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 7 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Sprinkle, Alex Sprinkle, Jacob Burchfield, Jeremy Willis, Tom Byrd, and Justin Balak.  Mrs. Sprinkle, 97, passed away Tuesday, August 3 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Center.

Ruby was born August 30, 1923 in Hunt County Texas to the late Claude and Nellie (Dickson) Barker.   On February 20, 1945, she and Burl Sprinkle were married.  They were married over 65 years when Burl died September 17, 2010.  Ruby worked for Sherman Independent School District in the cafeteria for over 24 years.  She also worked for Grayson County General Election for many years and volunteered at the Key Memorial Green House food banks.

Mrs. Sprinkle was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mildred Cunningham and Lucille Reeves. She is survived by her son, Lindsey Keith Sprinkle and his wife Vicki of Gordonville; four grandchildren, Amanda Roundtree, Bryan Sprinkle and wife April of Gordonville, Aimee Burchfield and husband Jacob  of Dickson, OK, and Alyssa Willis and husband Jeremy of Sherman; ten great grandchildren, Maranda Dailey, Darrion Dailey, Kaitlin Howard, Savanna Howard, Jacoby Roundtree, Alex Sprinkle, Chelsea Burchfield, Abbie Burchfield, Raylan Willis, and Jensen Willis; and one great great grandchild, Cameron Dailey.  Ruby was one of thirteen children and is also survived by these siblings, Geraldine Zimmerman, Billy Barker, Joy Robinson, Mike and Lynda Barker, Sandra and David Roberts, Sarah and Mike Pierce, and Susan and Jack Haley, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friend, Mikie Ritchie.
